Our History
Gehrtz Construction Services, Inc. (GCS) is a full-service construction management firm in downtown Fargo, North Dakota. We were founded in 2001 with a dedicated focus to serving our local area and that focus has remained key to our success. Current principals; Steve Gehrtz, Matt Gehrtz, Dan Kleist, Brian Berg, Tony Wolf and Tyler Brandreit, have over 120 years of combined experience in the local and regional markets, which gives us a deep understanding of the local construction markets including pricing and scheduling.
GCS is the owner’s advocate on all issues throughout the design and construction phases. The owner’s interests are always placed first in all decisions. We infuse integrity and honesty throughout all design, bidding and construction phases. Taking a “firm but fair” approach to contractors, working with them to ensure specifications and drawings are followed. These factors have a direct correlation to obtaining the most competitive bids from contractors on projects that we manage.
Since our inception, our focus has been advocating for owners and focusing on management of the end-to-end construction process; pre-construction through owner handoff and beyond. Laser-focus on fiduciary and timeline responsibilities has resulted in client success time and again, with the large majority of our clients turning into repeat customers as their business needs continue to grow and evolve. We truly become an extension of our owners’ teams as we move forward, building the future together.
