PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The new 12,071 square foot building houses the medical practice of Dr. Majid Ghazi, a specialist in pain management dealing primarily with spine-related pain. While patients treated at the facility may present with varied ailments and degrees of discomfort, the design team recognized it was critical to create a physical environment that was not only efficient and functionally effective but comforting and contemporary – and environment that mirrors and supplements the quality of care provided.

The Center for Pain Management’s Surgery Center includes a single operatory suite. Supporting spaces such as decontamination, sterilization, storage and recovery were all designed to accommodate a future addition that would house a second operatory suite. Clinical spaces for exam and treatment are provided with supporting spaces and offices.

The design team worked with both tenants, the Center for Pain Medicine, PT/OT Partners and an Owner-contracted equipment vendor, to accommodate specific needs for day to day staff operations, patient-specific needs, and planning for future expansion to the facility.

The project’s design process continued during construction as the project was split into multiple bid groups. This allowed for a streamlined construction schedule and project bidding during ideal bidding climates. As the design process continued, the Owner’s wishes or needs for the facility evolved. The design team remained flexible in response, and provided timely solutions conscientious of potential construction impact and existing conditions.
